Kindred Rescue Co.

A Kindred Canine Co. Organization

Coming Soon — Our 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Rescue

FOUNDER STORY

Kindred Rescue Co. has been a lifelong dream in the making.

Almost 30 years ago, I accidentally stumbled across Petfinder and discovered there were more than 9,000 homeless pit bulls—including puppies—within just 100 miles of me. I was stunned. I couldn’t understand how so many dogs could be waiting for homes while so few people seemed to know it was happening.

In the early 2000s, there was no social media and far fewer ways to spread the word, network adoptable dogs, and connect rescues with potential adopters. Today, we have better tools—but it is still not enough. Nowhere near enough.

That is where Kindred Rescue Co. comes in.

30 Years ago, the dream began.

THE FOUNDATION

Kindred Canine Co. became the jumping-off point for the rescue mission.

WHY KINDRED RESCUE CO. EXISTS

Rescue was always the dream.

While I truly love being a professional dog trainer, owning a dog-training business was never the final dream. Rescue was.

My goal has always been to use my natural connection with dogs, along with my experience as a trainer and pit bull and bully breed specialist, to rehabilitate rescue dogs and help shape better outcomes for them. I believe I can give many of these dogs a greater chance at successful, lifelong homes through training, structure, advocacy, and thoughtful placement.

Kindred Canine Co. was never the destination—it was the foundation. It became the jumping-off point for what I have always wanted to build.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

I believe the best rescue is the one that never has to happen.

Core Belief

I believe the best rescue is the one that never has to happen.

01
Rescue + Prevention

While rescuing dogs will always be at the heart of our mission, preventing dogs from entering shelters in the first place is just as important. Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to reduce owner surrenders, strengthen the human-canine bond, and create lifelong success stories.

02
Nearly 25 Years

For nearly 25 years, helping dogs and the people who love them has never felt like work—it has simply been part of who I am. Long before I ever became a professional dog trainer, people naturally came to me with questions about their dogs because they knew I could help.

03
Helping First

I’d see someone struggling on a walk and stop to offer guidance right then and there. Friends, family, neighbors, and even complete strangers trusted me with their dogs long before I ever accepted my first paying client.

04
Mission Over Business

The vast majority of my training has been done simply because I wanted to help. I only began charging professionally four years ago—not because my mission changed, but because building a sustainable business allows me to educate more families, help more dogs, and ultimately make this rescue possible.

05
Education & Awareness

I love nothing more than spreading education and awareness. My passion isn’t simply teaching dogs how to sit or stay—it’s helping people truly understand and communicate with their dogs. Whether I’m helping someone choose the right breed for their family and lifestyle, preparing them for their first puppy, working through behavioral challenges, or helping keep a beloved dog in their home, my goal is always the same: to create lasting relationships that keep dogs where they belong—with the families who love them.

06
Beyond Traditional Dog Training

That’s why Kindred Canine Co. offers services that extend far beyond traditional dog training. Every consultation, every lesson, every behavior plan, and every successful placement is another opportunity to prevent unnecessary surrenders and create a better future for dogs.

ACCESSIBLE EDUCATION

Support that helps dogs stay where they belong.

I believe quality education and training should be accessible.

If you’re committed to your dog, I’m committed to helping you. If cost is the only thing preventing you from getting started, please reach out. I believe every dedicated owner deserves the opportunity to build a better relationship with their dog, and whenever possible, I’ll do my best to find a solution that works for both of us.

This mission is bigger than any one person. It takes fosters, adopters, volunteers, donors, veterinarians, trainers, advocates, and an entire community willing to step forward.
