About Me

A Lifetime Devoted to Dogs — and the Art of Understanding Them

Hi, I'm Ashley Lionetti — and for nearly 25 years, dogs have been my whole world. My roots are in Pit Bulls, Staffordshire terriers, and working breeds — the dogs I've rescued, rehabilitated, and trained for nearly 25 years. While I work with all breeds and backgrounds, working dogs are my specialty: medium to large breeds built for drive and structure.

Based in Stamford's Westover neighborhood, I've built my life around understanding what makes each dog tick. From nervous rescues to high-energy pups, I've seen it all — and I approach every dog with patience, compassion, and a personalized plan.

Over time, I realized that true training goes far beyond commands — it's about understanding the dog in front of you and meeting them where they are. I don't run dogs through a one-size-fits-all system. I build a system around each dog — their temperament, behavior, history, and real-world needs.

I also bring a more intuitive, hands-on approach that allows me to read and connect with dogs on a deeper level—especially rescues and sensitive dogs. When you work with me, you're not just getting training—you're getting structure, clarity, and a calm, balanced dog you can confidently live with.

Structured Training for Real Life.

The Difference

Why Work With Me

01

No Two Dogs Are the Same

Every dog is an individual. I take the time to understand your dog's personality, history, behavior, and environment before creating a custom approach. No cookie-cutter programs. No shortcuts. Just what actually works for your dog.

02

Structured Training for Real Life

Dogs don't just need more exercise — they need structure, clarity, and communication through mental stimulation. I focus on building calm, responsive behavior that carries over into your everyday life — using both real-world exposure and a structured training course to develop confidence, focus, and engagement. My goal isn't to create a dog that listens in perfect conditions — it's to create a dog you can live with: calm in the home, responsive outside, and reliable in real-world situations.

03

A Balanced, Thoughtful Approach

My training ranges from foundational structure to advanced obedience — building clarity, responsiveness, and real-world reliability. I incorporate tools such as prong and e-collar conditioning when appropriate to reinforce communication and consistency. Everything is tailored to the dog and clearly explained to the owner.

04

Calm, Controlled Socialization

Socialization is structured and intentional — not chaotic or automatic. Dogs are introduced to interaction only once they demonstrate calmness, responsiveness, and self-control. This creates safe, balanced dogs — not overstimulated or reactive ones.

05

A Realistic Take-Home Plan

Training doesn't end when your dog goes home. You'll leave with a clear, realistic plan you can actually follow — so progress continues long after our time together.

What Families Say

I don't know if I've met anyone who adores dogs as much as Ashley. She is a superb trainer who maintains the capacity to lovingly correct unwanted behavior. She has an uncanny ability to connect with dogs and can easily read the subtle messages they present. When I adopted my dog, Ruko, he had been taken from his mothe…

Ashley has been a close personal friend for 20+ years. I've watched her take beautiful care of her own dogs and donate her time, money and resources to help dogs in need. Her last dog Jameson helped my special needs son overcome his fear of dogs entirely. She is patient, reliable, and takes great pride in every dog in …

Ashley has been my go-to for all dog training, questions, and advice for many years. She first worked with my American Pit Bull Terrier, Jeezy, through a board & train program. Before Ashley, I didn't know better and had her in a harness—she pulled constantly on leash. After training, Jeezy walked calmly, became more s…

Ashley 'gets' Ruby completely. As a spirited, high-energy Welsh Terrier, Ruby is often 'too much' for many — but Ashley's experience, careful focus, and affectionate nature made all the difference. Ruby ended her day as a very happy pup!
